DEONTRAY | THE R&BEAST
A native of the small community of Angie, LA, Deontray “The R&Beast” is an artist by all tricks of the trade; from visual to performing arts. He started drawing before he began singing, music just found a way to become a leading factor in his life. He has always sang in his church and school choirs, but it wasn’t until he received a standing ovation at The Big Broadcast talent showcase his freshman year in high school that he embraced his passion for singing. “The greatest feeling in the world is to have a crowd of people showing you love,” he said. That was all it took for him to find his true calling.
Deontray has had the honor of opening shows for music legends such as Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band, as well as 2nd Season American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, Keith Sweat and Tyrese.
If the greatest artists of all times are able to reflect upon their own lives to create masterpieces, Deontray prides himself in not writing just songs, but stories about life and living. “When I write, I try use something that I actually feel, have gone through or have witnessed others going through,” he explained.
This modern day Renaissance Man is something to look out for.
